Key Features

To achieve the full resolution of a megapixel camera, it is essential to use a high quality megapixel lens. Overall image quality is greatly affected by the quality of the optical image directed onto the image sensor.

ViewZ Megapixel lenses provide high contrast, brightness and sharpness across the entire image plane. Non-megapixel lenses will not fully display the resolution of megapixel sensor, especially in the corner areas of the image.

ViewZ Megapixel vari-focal lenses offer the maximum flexibility when the installation setting requires a wide range of focal lengths. The focal length can be adjusted easily on all lenses and comes with either manual iris, for installations with constant light conditions, or with auto-iris for settings with changing light conditions. We offer a wide range of vari-focal lenses, including megapixel and IR (Day/Night).

Some models utilize ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass and aspherical lens technology to pave the way for more possibilities in high end surveillance applications. ED glass helps to correct chromatic aberrations, or color fringing, caused when different light wavelengths do not converge at the same point after passing through traditional optical glass. ED glass improves sharpness and contrast in standard and IR lighting applications, even at maximum aperture.

There is a growing need for compact, high quality lenses for 24/7 surveillance applications such as parking lots, factory premises and streets. Continuous surveillance is also required for public facilities such as airports, harbors, highways and border patrol, requiring more versatile focal lengths and higher zoom ratios.

ViewZ Day/Night (IR) lenses respond to infrared illumination to capture clear, corrected images in all lighting conditions. We offer a lineup of lenses from the standard focal length of 2.8-12 mm to the diverse focal length of 8-80mm featuring ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass for maximum focus shift correction under IR and excellent daytime performance.

An iris that can be manually adjusted for different lighting conditions. This type of lens is normally used for fixed lighting applications or in conjunction with the electronic iris in the camera if the scene lighting level changes.

An auto-iris lens without an internal circuit to control the iris. All iris control voltages come from a circuit located within the camera to adjust the iris for changing light levels. DC-type lenses are recommended for use in inconsistent lighting conditions (e.g. outdoors). These are sometimes referred to as DD (Direct Drive) lenses.

Focal length is the basic characteristic of a lens and determines how much magnification it provides. The focal length defines the area of the scene that can be viewed with a given sensor size and is expressed in millimeters (mm).

ViewZ lenses have many options when it comes to focal length selection to fit your application.

CCTV lenses are available in two different lens mounts. C-mount lenses have a flange back distance of 17.526mm vs. 12.5mm for CS-mount lenses. Many of today’s cameras can accept either type of lens, but it is important to make sure that camera and lens are compatible and set up properly.

C-mount lenses have a flange back distance of 17.526mm vs. 12.5mm for CS-mount lenses. C-mount lenses can be used on CS-mount cameras by utilizing a 5mm adapter or adjusting the camera for C-mount lenses.

CS-mount lenses have a flange back distance of 12.5mm vs. 17.526mm for C-mount lenses. Because of the shorter back focal distance, CS-mount lenses can only be used on CS-mount cameras. Your picture will be out of focus if you use a CS-mount lens on a C-mount camera.
