ViewZ Color Calibration
The ViewZ professional reference monitors provide the most accurate display for creating any type of entertainment content. Catering to specific needs, ViewZ reference monitors can be custom calibrated at the factory upon request.
All of ViewZ broadcasting monitors are calibrated using CS-2000 to analyze panel spec and I-one & K-10 to apply custom color calibration value at the factory before they ship.
ViewZ CMS Software - Convenient, Portable Color Calibration Tool
By using ViewZ CMS software that contains self-correction algorithm based on CS-2000, along with relatively inexpensive hardware such as I-One and K-10, you can get almost the same calibration results as using the actual CS-2000 hardware.
Gamma Correction
In the monitor industry, general monitor panels have used Gamma 2.2 since CRT type monitors were released. Gamma describes the nonlinear relationship between the pixel levels in media source and the luminance of a monitor (the light energy it emits). And Gamma value is adjusted by video card’s (or monitor display card) look-up table.
To set Gamma and color temperature, ViewZ factory measures each broadcasting monitor panel out through measuring instruments (CS-2000 or others) due to the possibilities that each panel can have different Gamma characteristic.
At Viewz, the first step in color calibration is to make Gamma 2.2 curved line steady by using look-up table. To make Gamma 2.2 curved line steady, ViewZ factory corrects the break-bound Gamma curve or down/up Gamma values.
Color Temperature(Balance)
It's vital that all stages in broadcasting production have a set color temperature. Without the D6500 standard, each camera could produce different colors. Imagine watching a character on a TV show, and each time the shot switches to a different camera and there are noticeable color differences. With scripted shows, the production monitors used during the editing process need to match the cameras as well, otherwise more color inaccuracies could result.
The color temperature is controlled by R,G,B gain of input video signal and these color temperature values are marked as 3200K, 6500K and 9300K. 3200K is closer to red in color spectrum and 9300K closer to blue. Therefore 6500K is normally used as default.
After the Gamma 2.2 correction, ViewZ factory sets R,G,B gain to correct color temperature (Standard Color Coordinate).
