ViewZ Color Calibration
The ViewZ professional reference monitors provide the most accurate display for displaying any type of entertainment content. Catering to specific needs, ViewZ reference monitors can be custom calibrated at the factory upon request.
All of ViewZ broadcasting monitors are calibrated using our CS-2000 Spectroradiometer to analyze our panels specifications and test with an I-one & K-10 colorimeter to apply custom color calibration values at the factory before they ship.
ViewZ has developed the VZ-CSP (Calibration Software Package) to help our Broadcast customers calibrate their ViewZ broadcast monitors anywhere and anytime with inexpensive hardware.
ViewZ CMS Software - Convenient Color Calibration Program
By using the ViewZ VZ-CSP software that contains self-correction algorithm based on CS-2000, along with relatively inexpensive colorimeter such as I-One and K-10A, you can get almost the same calibration results as using the actual CS-2000 hardware.
ViewZ CMS Tool - Portable Color Calibration Tool
By using the supplied interface cable, you can easily calibrate ViewZ broadcast monitors
Gamma Correction
Monitor panels have used Gamma 2.2 since CRT type monitors were released. Gamma describes the nonlinear relationship between the pixel levels in the image source and the luminance of a monitor (the light energy it emits). Gamma value is adjusted by video card’s (or monitor display card) look-up tables.
To set Gamma and color temperature, ViewZ factory measures each broadcast monitor panel through measuring instruments (CS-2000 or others) due to the possibilities that each panel can have different Gamma characteristic, providing our Customers with color consistency between all ViewZ broadcast monitors.
At Viewz, the first step in color calibration is to make Gamma 2.2 curved line steady by using look-up tables. To accomplish this, ViewZ factory corrects the break-bound Gamma curve or down/up Gamma values on all our Broadcast monitors.
Color Temperature(Balance)
It's vital that all stages in broadcasting production have a set color temperature. Without the D6500 standard, each camera could produce different colors. Imagine watching a character on a TV show, and each time the shot switches to a different camera and there are noticeable color differences. With scripted shows, the production monitors used during the editing process need to match the cameras as well, otherwise more color inaccuracies could result.
The color temperature is controlled by RGB gain of the input video signal. These color temperature values are marked as 3200K, 6500K and 9300K. 3200K. 6500K Daylight is normally used as default.
After the Gamma 2.2 correction, ViewZ factory sets RGB gain to the correct color temperature (Standard Color Coordinate).
